If you’d like to cancel your domain name because you’ve set up a new one or don’t need it anymore, follow this guide.
Please note that you are not able to cancel the primary domain name. You will need to close your account or change the primary domain name before being able to cancel the domain name.
- Log into your Rocketspark dashboard - How do I log in to my website Dashboard?
-
Head to Domain Names
- Click on the domain name you wish to cancel
- Head to Domain Options
- There will be the option to cancel the domain name
-
Once clicked, there will be a pop-up to confirm this. It will also show how long your domain name has left before it expires.
Keep in mind that while your domain still has time left, you’ll be able to restore it if you change your mind. Any invoice attached to the domain will also be cancelled once the domain is cancelled.
If you have any questions at all, please let the support team know. You can contact them at support@rocketspark.com.
FAQs
Can I cancel my primary domain?
Not directly. Your primary domain is tied to your account, so you’ll need to either change your primary domain or close your account before you can cancel it.
What happens when I cancel a domain?
The domain will still work until it expires. If there’s an invoice linked to it, that invoice will automatically be cancelled too, so that it doesn't renew.
Can I restore a domain after cancelling?
Yes! As long as there’s still time left on the domain before it expires, you’ll be able to bring it back through your Dashboard > Domain names.
How do I know how much time is left on my domain?
When you go to cancel, a pop-up will appear to confirm the cancellation. This will also show how much time your domain has left before it expires.
What if I cancel the wrong domain by mistake?
No stress — you can restore it if there’s still time left before expiry. And if you need a hand, our support team is always here to help.
