There are times when you might need to move a domain name to another site within Rocketspark. This usually happens if you’re merging two sites together, or if you’ve rebuilt your website and want the new version to go live.
Our support team can help with this — you’ll just need to get in touch with us first at support@rocketspark.com. What we need from you depends on which option you’re going with.
Rebuilt your website:
To move the domain to your new site, the request must come from the owner’s email address of the current live site. This helps us make sure everything stays secure.
If the owner’s email on the new site is different, just let us know what that email is as well. We don’t need confirmation from the new owner — it’s simply to make sure the domain ends up in the right place.
At the same time, we can also move your billing plan across to the new site. Card details can’t be transferred, so you’ll need to add your payment method again in the Billing section once the move is done.
Merging two sites together:
If you’re merging two sites, we can move the domain from a site that has been shut down onto an existing site.
Before we do this:
the site currently connected to the domain needs to be shut down
the request must come from the owner of the shut-down site
you’ll need to tell us which site the domain should be moved to
Once that’s sorted, we’ll take care of the rest.
