FAQ schema is a special bit of code that helps Google and AI tools like ChatGPT understand that your accordion block contains questions and answers.
When you add FAQ schema, search engines may show your FAQs directly in search results — helping your site stand out and making it easier for people to find answers before even visiting your page.
What if my accordion isn’t actually FAQs?
If your accordion isn’t a Q&A section, leave the toggle off. Schema should only be added when the content genuinely contains questions and answers. Turning it on for non-FAQ content can confuse Google and AI tools, making it harder for them to understand your site correctly.
Adding the FAQ schema can:
Help your page appear in Google’s “People also ask” section
Improve how your content is understood by AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini
Make your site look more professional in search results
How to add FAQ schema
If you have not already, add an accordion block to your page: How do I add an Accordion/FAQ
Click the edit icon on an accordion block.
Scroll to “FAQ Schema for Google/AI tools”: You’ll see a short description and a toggle switch.
Turn on “Add FAQ schema”: Toggle it on if your accordion is used for FAQs. For example, “Do you offer free quotes?” or “How long does delivery take?”.
If your accordion isn’t FAQs (like team bios or service lists), keep it off.
You don’t need to do anything else. Rocketspark automatically creates the structured data behind the scenes.
An example of what the schema looks like:
If you enable the schema for an FAQ block, you can preview what this will look like by going to the live URL of the domain name and inspecting the page.
- Right-click and choose "inspect" (on Chrome)
- On the right hand side, you can search for the schema easily. "Command + f" to bring up the search and search for "FAQ" to view the schema working in action!
