Transfer Process - (current email is not on Google Workspace)
- Through your Rocketspark Dashboard, go to "Google Workspace" settings
- Set up your Google Workspace account: How to Set Up Google Workspace
- If needed, migrate any historical emails into the new Google inbox from your old provider: Migrate emails.
- Once this has been set-up, you will need to ensure to update your DNS settings to ensure your Google Workspace email start to work. You can see those records here - Google Workspace Email DNS Records
- Cancel your old email provider to avoid paying for two subscriptions.

Moving an existing Google Workspace account
If your email is already on Google Workspace with another provider, you don't need to recreate anything — you can transfer your existing account to Rocketspark's reseller account instead. Follow the steps here: How to transfer your Google Workspace email to the Rocketspark reseller.
Tips and things to watch out for
- Migrate historical emails before you cancel your old provider — once it's cancelled, that mailbox and its contents are usually gone for good.
- Update your DNS records as soon as Google Workspace is active. Until the MX records point to Google, new mail won't arrive in your new inbox.
- If you're transferring an existing Google Workspace account rather than setting up a new one, use the reseller transfer path above, not the new-account steps — they're different processes.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my old emails during the transfer?
Not if you migrate them first. Use Google's migration tool to bring historical emails into your new Google Workspace inbox before cancelling your old provider.
Do I need to change my DNS records?
Yes. Once your Google Workspace account is set up, your domain's DNS records need to be updated so mail routes to Google. See Google Workspace Email DNS Records for the exact records.
Will my email address stay the same?
Yes, moving your email hosting doesn't change your email addresses. You'll keep sending and receiving from the same addresses once DNS points to your new Google Workspace account.
I already have Google Workspace with another host. Do I follow these same steps?
No. If you're already on Google Workspace, don't set up a new account — transfer your existing one instead. Follow How to transfer your Google Workspace email to the Rocketspark reseller.
When should I cancel my old email provider?
Only after you've confirmed your new Google Workspace email is receiving mail correctly and any historical emails have been migrated. Cancelling too early risks losing access to old messages.
