We’ve set up an easy way for you to share your feedback on a website design. Instead of writing long emails trying to describe what you mean, you can simply click on the design and leave a note exactly where you’d like a change. It’s a bit like sticking a Post-it note right on the page.
This guide walks you through it, step by step.
Getting started
Step 1 Open the link on your computer You would have been sent a unique link. Request a new link if you can not find this. Click it to open your website design in your web browser. It’s best to do this on a computer or laptop. Adding feedback while on a mobile device is not supported. |
Step 2 Welcome popup When you open the link, a little welcome message pops up to show you the ropes. Have a quick read, then click the button to get started. You will see a bar at the bottom of the screen. If a due date was set for when feedback is needed, you will see a countdown in the bottom bar. |
Step 3 Click anywhere to leave a note This is the fun part. See something you’d like to change? Just click on that spot on the page. A little marker appears right where you clicked, and a box opens up for you to type your thoughts. Type your note, then pop it in. That’s one piece of feedback done! Your initials will appear alongside your comment. No worries if these initials do not match correctly; your designer will know who they are coming from. You won't be able to delete or edit existing comments made, but you can always add a following note to the existing thread by adding a new reply to that comment. |
Step 4 Carry on through the whole design Click as many spots as you like and leave a note on each one. Big changes, small tweaks, anything at all, we want to hear it. You have a 10,000-character limit per comment. You can tour your comments made by clicking the arrow icons in that bottom bar. This will re-open all of your comments! If your website has more than one page, you’ll see a menu along the bottom of the screen. Use it to move between the pages and leave notes wherever you’d like. Beside the page menu, there will be a progress circle which will show you how many pages you have reviewed. |
Step 5 Send it back when you’re done Once you’ve left all your notes, click the “Send to designer” button. We’ll get everything you’ve said, all in one go. Before it sends, you’ll see a quick summary of your notes, so you can double-check you’ve covered everything. If there are multiple pages in review, a message will show if any pages do not have any of your comments on them already. But this is totally fine if you are happy with those pages, you don't need to add comments if those pages look good! There’s also a space to add any general thoughts that don’t belong to one particular spot. Then click "Send Feedback" |
A few handy tips
Interactive actions in the design:
Your design might have a few clickable bits, like a dropdown that opens to show more content, a photo gallery, or a menu button that has 3 horizontal lines. When you click one of these, you’ll get a choice: leave a note on it, or open it up to take a closer look. Both are totally fine, so explore away.
However, buttons and links do not take you to the link destination.
Your notes save as you go
No need to worry about losing your work. Each note is saved the moment you pop it in. You can close the page and come back later, and your notes will still be there waiting for you.
Once you’ve sent, your notes are locked in
After you click “Send to designer,” your notes are on their way, so they can’t be changed. Not to worry though, if you think of something else, you’ll get another chance to add notes when we send the updated design back to you (more on that below).
Take your time There’s no rush. Have a good look around, click through everything, and tell us honestly what you think. The more you share, the closer we’ll get your website to exactly what you’re after. |
What happens next?
Here’s how it all works once you’ve sent your feedback. We do this in rounds, a bit like a friendly back-and-forth, until your website is just right.
Step 1 We get your notes As soon as you hit send, all your feedback lands with us. We’ll read through every note and get to work making your changes. |
Step 2 We may send the design back to you Once we’ve made your changes, we may send you a new link to take another look. |
Look out for the green ticks When you open the design again, you’ll see your earlier notes marked with a green tick. That’s our way of showing you we’ve sorted that one out. |
Step 3 Take another look and reply if you’d like Have a look through the updates. If you’d like to chat about something, just click on your earlier note and reply to it. And of course, you can leave brand new notes anywhere too. |
Step 4 Send it back, and round we go When you’re happy, hit “Send to designer” again. We’ll keep going back and forth like this until your website is exactly how you want it. There’s no limit, so we’ll take as many looks as we need to get it perfect. |
