At Rocketspark, we care deeply about accessibility. Everyone deserves to have a smooth, inclusive experience online, and that includes people using screen readers or other assistive tools. We’ve identified several areas to improve accessibility at Rocketspark, and we’re working through them step by step. One big improvement has been making sure image logos are now accessible to everyone.
What’s new
We’ve added a feature that makes the image logo accessible by default. Screen readers can now understand what your logo represents and where it links to.
So instead of staying silent or reading out confusing code, a screen reader will say something like:
“Link, yourbusinessname homepage.”
This is possible thanks to a small bit of magic behind the scenes called an ARIA label. It gives your logo an accessible name, letting visitors know that it’s clickable and takes them back to your homepage.
Accessible logos make a real difference. They help people who rely on assistive technology to navigate your website confidently, creating a more inclusive experience for everyone.
How it works
This feature is automatically turned on for all websites using a dynamic template (you can switch to one easily; it’s quick and safe to do).
There’s nothing extra you need to set up; your logo will be accessible out of the box.
Where the name comes from
The wording that screen readers announce — for example, “Link, Rocketspark homepage” — is taken from your website’s business name.
By default, we use the business name you added during your Flint setup journey. If that name isn’t right, you can:
Update your business name in Flint settings (look for the lightning bolt icon ⚡ in the top right of your editor).
-
If you didn’t set a business name during setup, we’ll fall back to:
The text behind your image logo (if you used a text logo previously), or
Your organisation name from My Account settings.
Updating any of these will automatically update your logo’s ARIA label too.
We’d love your feedback
