An email alias, also known as an alternate email, acts as a forwarding email address to keep your real name from appearing on the internet. Most email aliases have a seperate inbox to forward incoming emails to a primary email address. Email aliases have the same contacts and account settings as the primary email account.
An example of this is:
Primary Email | Alias Email |
support@rocketspark.com | info@rocketspark.com |
Anyone who sends info@rocketspark.com an email, will forward into the support@rocketspark.com inbox but it is addressed to info compared to support. This means that anyone who has access to support@rocketspark.com can access this email if needed, but Alex knows it is for them.
Benefits of using an email Alias:
- To create a professional presence for a business
- To add protection against spam emails
- To protect your identity online
- To protect your primary email address from receiving spam
The most popular use of email aliases is for employees filling multiple roles within a company. An email alias is useful because it allows all emails, regardless of the role to which they're sent, to go to the main employees main email address. This simplifies the process of tracking any emails received and ensures all employees in multiple roles receive the emails.
There is no limit on how many alias you can create with Rocketspark and they are free of charge.
