You may want to use Stripe as one of your payment gateways - This is an easy way to take payments for your online store. Please look through our help guide below on how to set up Stripe as a payment gateway.
About Stripe
Stripe is a payment gateway notable for its easy-to-use interface and quick setup and so it's a good fit for eCommerce stores and for subscription-based services. (Click here to learn how to add Recurring Subscriptions to your Rocketspark website store). As there is no merchant bank account required, it's possible to have your Stripe account up and running within minutes without any 'account approval' delays. There are also no monthly fees, and the per-transaction fee is very reasonable. Stripe has a minimum spend amount of $0.50 - if the product being sold is less than $0.50 then Stripe will not appear as a payment gateway in the checkout area.
Stripe will transfer funds to your bank account on the schedule you specify (daily/weekly/monthly) and it may take a few days for funds to arrive.

NOTE: Before activating your account, you can only interact with Stripe in test mode. All of Stripe's features are available in test mode, though no live charges using the card networks can be created."
HTTPS (SSL) built-in
During a Rocketspark trial, you'll be covered by the Rocketspark temporary address and SSL. However, you'll need to make sure SSL is enabled on your live website domain name in order to use Stripe.
Enabling HTTPS (SSL) on your site is a standard feature with Rocketspark and is used for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client—your website and a browser. To learn how to enable HTTPS or check your SSL is enabled, please follow our SSL guide here. You must have a domain name set up to enable HTTPS which happens during the Upgrade process if you are still on a 30-day trial.
Enable Stripe as a payment option
-
Enable Stripe by changing the toggle from red to green in your Rocketspark Dashboard under the Stripe heading where it says Credit Card gateway. Stripe will not appear as a payment option for your customers until this toggle is set to green.
- Customise the payment page. Stripe allows you to configure your branding/colours and logo on the payment page. To add your logo to the Stripe payment page go to your Stripe branding settings. See the instructions here for How to add your logo to the Stripe payment page.
Stripe Test transactions
You can perform test transactions in Stripe by clicking Edit settings to reveal the Enable Test mode button. Click on Enable Test mode.
When testing Stripe for your store, use card number 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any valid expiry date. More test card information can be found on the Stripe website https://stripe.com/docs/testing#cards
NB! Once you've completed your testing, remember to click on Disable Test mode to enable LIVE mode to allow your customers to make payments through Stripe and transactions to be processed.
What to expect with test transactions
When you run a test transaction, it will allow you to proceed through the checkout as if you were a real customer. You’ll receive an order confirmation email from Rocketspark, and the order will also appear in your Rocketspark dashboard.
Please note: because your store is in test mode, these transactions will not pull through to your Stripe account. They only appear in Stripe once you’re live and accepting real payments.
Need help with your Stripe account?
If you have any questions about your Stripe account — such as updating your bank details, changing your business information, or understanding your payouts — you'll need to get in touch with Stripe directly. Rocketspark doesn't have access to your Stripe account settings.
Here's how to contact Stripe:
1. Through the Stripe Support Portal (Recommended)
Head to support.stripe.com and log in to your Stripe account. From there, click Help and then Contact Support. You'll be able to choose from:
- Chat — Connect with a support agent via live chat
- Phone — Enter your phone number and a Stripe agent will call you back
- Email — Fill out a support form and Stripe will respond via email
Please Note: You'll need to be logged in to your Stripe account to access these options.
2. Email Stripe directly
If you'd prefer, you can email Stripe at support@stripe.com. Note that responses may take longer than using the support portal, and emails sent directly won't appear in your Stripe support centre message history.
3. Locked out of your Stripe account?
If you've lost access to your password or two-factor authentication device, go to the Stripe login page and attempt to sign in. You'll see an option to indicate you no longer have access to your device. Stripe will then guide you through an identity verification process to recover your account.

Note to customers who have enabled Stripe as a payment gateway on their Rocketspark store before 19 Nov 2019.
We have strengthened the security of your Stripe and Rocketspark website connection by replacing the visible connection keys with a one-click connection button.
For your optimal security, we encourage you to take a minute to reconnect your Stripe account with your Rocketspark website.
Select the Payment Gateway tab in your Rocketspark dashboard’s store settings. Under Stripe, click Edit settings, then click on the Reconnect with Stripe button. You'll be redirected to a Stripe page to log in and approve the connection. The old keys will be removed and the new secure connection will be established.
Rocketspark uses the latest version of Stripe Checkout which is compatible with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).
