Once you have published a blog post and set up your blog, you can add a blog post block to any page, which displays a small portion of your latest blog post by adding a block.
The blog post block will display:
- The blog title
- The first image if an image is placed at the top of the blog post (recommended)
- A few lines of the first paragraph of your blog
- A link to read more
Go to the page where you want the link to be placed, click Add Block and select Blog Post. The link will be added and whenever you add a new blog post the link will be automatically updated to go to the new post.
Your blog preview will depend on the order of information you have added to each blog post. If a picture or video blog is the first block in the blog post then this will be displayed in the preview along with a snippet of any following text. By selecting the order of your material carefully your blog can have a more appealing look and greater impact on visitors.
Key Tips:
- If you'd like to display less text in the blog post summary you should add your opening paragraph in your blog post as a separate text block.
- When creating your blog post and adding your first image its good to think about how that image will also look on the blog post block. An image that is a landscape shape generally works best.
