Getting the hang of blocks is a big part of feeling confident in the Rocketspark editor. They’re the building pieces that bring your pages to life — from text and images to buttons and forms. This guide walks you through the essentials of adding, moving, deleting, and working around copying blocks, so you can shape your page layout exactly how you want, without any stress.
Add blocks
Adding new blocks is nice and quick. Here are the different ways to do it depending on what you’re seeing on the page:

Using the ‘Add Block’ text: If this text is visible on the page, simply click it and choose the block type you want.

Using the blue ‘+’ icon: In layouts with multiple columns, the full ‘Add Block’ text might not appear. Instead, you’ll see a small blue + icon. Click this to add a block into that column.

Adding a block underneath another block: Hover your mouse over the block above where you want the new one to appear. A blue + icon will pop up at the bottom edge of that block. Click the icon and select the block type.
Delete blocks
If a block is no longer needed, you can remove it easily.

Delete the block: Click the bin icon that appears when hovering over the block.

Delete the whole column: If you also want to remove the column that the block sits in, you’ll need to delete the column separately. Use the bin icon that appears when hovering over the column (your screenshots will show this clearly).
Move blocks
You can reorganise your content at any time.

Drag and drop: Hover over the block until the editing icons appear, then click and hold the middle drag icon.

Move anywhere: Drag the block to:
- another position within the same column
- above or below another block
- a different column
- a different stack
When you see a blue highlight showing the new placement, release your mouse to drop it into position.
Copy blocks
Copy a block - Duplicate any content block on your page

Drag and drop: Hover over the block until the editing icons appear, then hold the Alt or Option key while hovering over the middle drag icon.

Move anywhere: Drag the block to:
- another position within the same column
- above or below another block
- a different column
- a different stack
When you see a blue highlight showing the new placement, release your mouse to drop it into position.
- Quick note: Only release the Alt or Option key when you have dragged the copied block into its new position.

FAQs
Why can’t I copy just one block?
Copying individual blocks isn’t available yet, but copying a full stack gives you a handy workaround.
Why don’t I see the ‘Add Block’ button?
If you’re working inside a column layout, you may only see the blue + icons instead of the full text button.
Why can’t I delete a column by deleting the block inside it?
Deleting a block only removes the content. To remove the whole column, use the bin icon that appears when hovering over the column itself.
Can I move a block to a completely different page?
Blocks can be moved around within the same page. To reuse content on another page, consider copying the whole stack and pasting it into the new page.
Why won’t my block drop where I expect?
The blue highlight shows where a block can be placed. If it won’t drop, try moving your cursor slightly up or down until the highlight appears.
