With Flint, creating and editing text is easy. Flint's AI writer uses your tone of voice to generate and edit text to make it sound just like you. Flint incorporates quick actions like "make it longer" as well as an auto-write function.

Before you get started you will need to ensure you have created your tone of voice. If you have just created your site, you will have already completed your tone of voice survey, if you have an existing site and not completed this, follow the steps to create your tone of voice.

Once you've added a stack
to your website, add a block.

You will see the Add a block popup. Choose text.

You can now use the auto-write feature to generate text for your heading.
If you do not see the auto-write option, ensure you have the Flint lightning bolt toggled on.
- Click in the heading area
- Click Auto-write
The auto-write feature is intuitive and considers any content directly above your text block as well as below. It even looks for text within the stack you are working on to help give the result context. Flint is also incorporating your tone of voice - check out updating your tone of voice

If you want to edit text on your site, you can uses Flint to help. We have a series of different ways you can edit your text quickly and easily, all using your applied tone of voice and our curated prompting for AI generative text.

When you already have text present, either from the initial Flint generated text or your own text copy, you may just want to change it completely. Flint will take into account the surrounding text on your page - above, below and within the stack you are editing. This is all to help generate new text that fits with your business and where you are replacing text on your site.
- Hover over your text block and click the edit pencil
- Hover over the Auto button - The text you are about to edit will highlight in green, if the wrong section of text is highlighted, simply click into the area of text you want to update (Heading vs paragraph).

Make it easy to read:
Sometimes you want to keep the general version you have but need to just make it easier to read. And by easier to read, this will use language to achieve a simpler sentence structure and words that are easier to read on a website.
- Hover over your text block and click the edit pencil
- Hover over the Auto button - The text you are about to edit will highlight in green, if the wrong section of text is highlighted, simply click into the area of text you want to update (Heading vs paragraph).
Click Make it easy to read

Make it shorter:
If you feel your text is too lengthy you can simply use the Make it shorter button! This is great if there has been some auto generated text that doesn't fit your page design or you want a cleaner look that is easier to digest.
- Hover over your text block and click the edit pencil
- Hover over the Auto button - The text you are about to edit will highlight in green, if the wrong section of text is highlighted, simply click into the area of text you want to update (Heading vs paragraph).

Make it longer:
Just like the Make is shorter button, in some cases updating the text you have to be longer will help fill out your page and elaborate on the point you are making.
- Hover over your text block and click the edit pencil
- Hover over the Auto button - The text you are about to edit will highlight in green, if the wrong section of text is highlighted, simply click into the area of text you want to update (Heading vs paragraph).

Rewrite my text to say...
One of the most powerful features of Flint is the ability to prompt the tool to update text in specific ways. If you have used a generative text tool yourself, you will know that prompting is where you get the magic to happen.
With Flint you can prompt for a complete text block or a selection of text within a paragraph, allowing you to get things just right.
- Hover over your text block and click the edit pencil
- Click in the space "Rewrite my text to say... - The text you are about to edit will highlight in green, if the wrong section of text is highlighted, simply click into the area of text you want to update (Heading vs paragraph).
- You can now explain to Flint how you would like to rewrite your text.
