Help! My images are rotating after uploading to Rocketspark.
Some photos have the rotation preferences stored in the file's metadata, which is actually saved within the image file itself. This means that the image looks to be the correct orientation on your computer but this is just a preference which is saved on the file.
Unfortunately, these preferences get lost when uploading the pictures to your website, as our system looks at the raw image data only and can't see these saved preferences.
The easiest way to solve the problem is to edit the photo and re-save it in the correct orientation before uploading it to Rocketspark.
The easiest way to solve the problem is to edit the photo and re-save it in the correct orientation before uploading it to Rocketspark.
To do this you need to open the picture in a photo editing program such as Preview. You can also find some online such as canva.com or picmonkey.com. Uploading your image into one of these programs will wipe all the preferences, and show you the image how it actually is. You can then make sure the picture is the right way up and re-save it. Once you have the newly saved file you can upload it onto the Rocketspark system.
