If you're buying from a store that offers Clearpay and it's your first time using it, here's what you need to know.
What is Clearpay?
Clearpay is a form of credit. It lends you a fixed amount so you can pay for your purchase over four instalments, due every two weeks. The instalments are interest-free, though late fees apply if you miss one.
You pay the first instalment when you buy, and the rest over the following six weeks. It's worth making sure you can cover the repayments before you go ahead, because missing them costs you money and can affect your access to credit later on.
Clearpay is provided by Clearpay Finance Limited, not by Rocketspark or by the store you're buying from. Your agreement is with Clearpay.
Who can use Clearpay
To use Clearpay you need to:
- Be a permanent UK resident (excl Channel Islands)
- Be 18 or over
- Be able to enter into a legally binding contract
- Have a valid email address and UK mobile number
- Use a UK credit or debit card
Clearpay credit is subject to status, so approval isn't automatic. Clearpay carries out checks before approving each purchase and there's a chance an order won't go through.
In New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA, Clearpay goes by the name Afterpay.

Once your account is set up, you can use Clearpay at any store that offers it by logging in at the checkout.
There's also a Clearpay app on the App Store and Google Play if you'd like to manage your payments and keep an eye on your spending from your phone.
Clearpay works with Rocketspark stores
Any Rocketspark online store in the UK can turn Clearpay on, which means you'll see it as a payment option at the checkout on plenty of the websites we host.
Not every product will be eligible. Store owners can switch Clearpay off for certain items, and Clearpay has its own restrictions on what it can be used for.
Need a hand?
Questions about your Clearpay account, your repayments, or a purchase you've made are best answered by Clearpay directly. You can reach them through the Clearpay help centre.
If you're struggling with repayments, Clearpay has a hardship page with support options.
If something's not working on the website you're shopping on, the store owner is the right person to contact.
