Rocketspark's online store (also called the shop or ecommerce area) lets you sell physical products, set up subscriptions, and manage orders, all from the same platform as your website. This guide covers what the Rocketspark store can do, what it can't, and which features are available on each ecommerce plan, so you can work out whether it's the right fit for your business.
What does Rocketspark ecommerce include?
Here's a rundown of the features available across the Rocketspark ecommerce plans. Some features are only available on certain plans, and those are noted below.
Products and inventory
You can add products with variants (such as size or colour), organise them into categories, and tag them by attributes like colour, size, or gender. Tags double as filters, so customers can browse and narrow down products on your store.
Other product features include:
- Brands and categories to keep your catalogue organised.
- Compare-at pricing so customers can see the original price alongside a sale price.
- CSV import to add products in bulk rather than one at a time.
- Visual stock management and CSV stock reports to keep on top of inventory.
- Catalogue mode where products are viewable and searchable but the basket and checkout are removed, handy if you want a browse-only experience.
- Related products displayed on product pages to catch buyer interest.
- Subscription boxes where you curate bundles of products and set a delivery frequency.
Product limits by plan:
- Ecommerce Lite: up to 10 products
- Ecommerce Grow: up to 400 products
- Ecommerce Pro: unlimited products
Payments
Rocketspark supports several payment gateways including Stripe, eWay, Windcave, PayPal, Afterpay, and Laybuy. Customers can also pay by bank transfer, in which case you manually mark the order as paid in your Dashboard.
If a payment fails at checkout, customers are given a way to retry without starting over.
Subscriptions (recurring payments)
Recurring subscriptions are available as a paid add-on to the Ecommerce Pro plan. To use subscriptions, you'll need Stripe set up as your payment gateway.
Subscription frequencies include weekly, fortnightly, monthly, every two months, every three months, and every six months. You can set products to subscription-only, one-off purchase only, or give the buyer the choice of either.
Note: Subscriptions require the Ecommerce Pro plan and Stripe as your payment gateway. The add-on is $30/month or $300/year.
Shipping, pickup, and tax
You can set up different shipping rates based on location, quantity, and on a per-product basis. If you sell in-store or offer local collection, you can add pickup locations per country and let customers choose their preferred location at checkout. Weight-based shipping is not available.
Scheduled ordering is available on the Ecommerce Grow and Pro plans. This lets you set specific delivery or pickup time slots for customers to choose from, which is particularly useful for food businesses, florists, or any business that operates on a schedule.
Taxes are automatically calculated at checkout based on the shipping destination, and you can exempt specific products from tax if needed.
Customer accounts and orders
Returning customers can create an account to save their address details, view their order history, and manage their account information. Sign-in is passwordless, using an email link.
On the Ecommerce Pro plan, customers also get a Buy Again button to quickly reorder past purchases.
From the merchant side, you can view all customers sorted by spend, total orders, or last order date, and export customer data to CSV. You can also cancel orders in the Dashboard and reinstate them later if needed.
Gift mode
Buyers can mark an order as a gift for someone else at checkout.
Click and Collect (pickup)
You can set up multiple pickup locations per country. Customers choose their preferred pickup location during checkout.
Coupons and promotions (Grow and Pro plans)
On the Ecommerce Grow and Pro plans, you can create coupons and promotions. Coupons can be set to single-use per customer and applied across multiple categories, brands, or tags.
You can also create add-to-cart quick links that send customers straight to checkout with a product already in their basket.
Integrations
Rocketspark ecommerce connects with a number of third-party tools:
- Xero for accounting (Grow and Pro plans)
- Lightspeed for point-of-sale and inventory syncing (Pro plan)
- Starshipit for automated label printing, packing slips, and courier booking (Grow and Pro plans)
- GoSweetSpot for shipping and courier management (Grow and Pro plans)
- Google Shopping to promote products in Google search results (Grow and Pro plans)
- Mailchimp for email marketing (Grow and Pro plans)
- Campaign Monitor and Google Analytics for reporting
Gift cards (workaround)
Rocketspark doesn't have a native gift card system with unique codes and balance tracking. However, you can sell gift cards by setting them up as products with variants for different values (e.g. $25, $50, $100). This is a manual workaround, so you'll need to handle redemption yourself.
What Rocketspark ecommerce doesn't do
Every platform has limits, and being upfront about them helps you make the right decision. Here's what Rocketspark ecommerce doesn't currently support.
No public API
Rocketspark doesn't provide API access, so you can't build custom integrations or connect tools that aren't already supported through the built-in integration options.
No dedicated mobile app
There's no native mobile app for managing your store. You manage everything through a web browser, which works on mobile but isn't a dedicated app experience.
No abandoned cart recovery emails
There's no built-in automated email to follow up with customers who leave items in their cart. You can use the Mailchimp integration for some marketing automation, but it's not a direct abandoned cart recovery tool.
No digital product downloads
The platform is oriented towards physical goods and subscriptions. There's no built-in system for selling and automatically delivering digital files like ebooks, music, or software. You can sell a digital product as a regular product and manually send the file after purchase, but it's a manual process.
No native product reviews or ratings
There's no built-in system for customers to leave star ratings or written reviews on product pages.
No wishlist or save-for-later
Customers can't bookmark or save products to a wishlist for future purchasing.
No multi-currency at checkout
Your store is set to one of 22 supported currencies, but customers can't switch between currencies at checkout. There's no automatic currency conversion based on where the buyer is browsing from.
No multi-language or translation
The platform supports English only. There's no built-in translation or multilingual storefront capability.
No marketplace or multi-vendor support
Rocketspark is designed for single-store merchants. It's not built for marketplace setups where multiple sellers list products on one site.
No native point-of-sale (POS)
There's no built-in POS system. If you need point-of-sale functionality, you can use the Lightspeed integration on the Ecommerce Pro plan.
No B2B or wholesale pricing
Rocketspark isn't set up for B2B wholesale portals with custom pricing per customer account. You can set up another website through Rocketspark which can be login only.
No multi-warehouse inventory
If you manage stock across multiple warehouse locations, Rocketspark doesn't support multi-warehouse inventory tracking.
No real-time carrier-calculated shipping rates
Shipping rates are based on manual rate tables you set up (per country, per product, per quantity), not live rates pulled from courier services in real time.
No advanced product filtering
Filtering is limited to categories, brands, and tags. There's no faceted search with price sliders or complex multi-attribute filtering.
No native loyalty or rewards programme
There's no built-in points system or loyalty rewards programme.
No dropshipping support
There's no built-in dropshipping functionality and no integrations with dropshipping suppliers or fulfilment networks. You'd need to manage fulfilment manually.
No geo-based currency or region switching
The Rocketspark marketing site uses geo-redirection for different regions (NZ, AU, UK, US), but your ecommerce store doesn't auto-detect a shopper's location to switch currency or shipping region. Customers manually select their country at checkout.
No native gift card system
As mentioned above, gift cards are a manual workaround. There's no auto-generated unique code, balance tracking, or redemption system built in.
No custom checkout fields
You can't add extra custom fields to the checkout process beyond the standard fields provided.
Shop design is linked to Change Design
The shop's visual styling (colours, fonts, layout) is controlled through the site-wide Change Design settings. There are no individual styling options for the shop pages separate from the rest of your site. This means your store will always match your overall site design, but you can't give it a unique look independent of the rest of your website.

Tips and things to watch out for
- If you're on the Ecommerce Lite plan and find 10 products too limiting, the Grow plan gives you room for up to 400 products along with coupons, customer accounts, and integrations.
- Subscriptions require Stripe as your payment gateway. If you're using a different gateway, you'll need to switch to Stripe before enabling subscriptions.
- The shop's design follows your site-wide Change Design settings. If you want your store to look different from the rest of your site, the options are limited to what you can adjust within Change Design globally.
- If you need to sell digital products, you can list them as regular products and manually send the file to the customer after they purchase. It works, but keep in mind it's a manual step for every order.
