Your blog headings, paragraph text, dates, and intro text all pull their styling from your site-wide design settings. If you want to change how your blog looks — the fonts, text sizes, or colours — you'll find those settings under Change Design → Headings & Paragraphs.
This guide walks you through where each part of your blog gets its styling, so you know exactly what to adjust.
How blog text styles work on the main blog page
On your main blog listing page (the page that shows all your posts), each element pulls from a specific text style in your Headings & Paragraphs settings:
- Blog title: Displays using your H2 text style. To change the font or size of your blog titles, adjust your H2 settings under Change Design → Headings & Paragraphs.
- Date and "Read more" link: These use your paragraph text colour.
- Intro text: This is pulled from the very first text in your blog post. It could be a paragraph, a heading, or a mix of both — whatever appears first in your post is what shows here.
- Featured images: If your blog post starts with an image, that image will also appear on the main blog listing page.

Styling on individual blog posts
When someone clicks into a blog post, the styling works like this:
- Post title: Displays as an H1. This size is fixed and can't be changed.
- Body content: All headings and paragraph text use the fonts and sizes you've set under Change Design → Headings & Paragraphs.
- Date: Uses your paragraph text colour.
Here is an example of the blog post:
Blog buttons and file upload links
Blogs don't support traditional buttons inside the text editor, but you can add a file upload link. If someone clicks that link, they'll be able to download the file you've attached.
To change how those file links look, go to:
Change Design → Button Styles → More Button Settings → Blog Buttons
The styles you set there will apply to any downloadable file links in your blog content.
Blog search button: The search button on your blog pulls its colour from your H2 text colour, set under Change Design → Headings & Paragraphs.
Tips and things to watch out for
- Your blog titles are styled as H2 on the listing page but H1 on the individual post. If your H2 font looks different from what you expected on the blog listing, that's where to check.
- The intro text on your blog listing page is pulled automatically from the first content in your post. If you want a clean paragraph preview, make sure your post starts with paragraph text rather than a heading.
- Changing your Headings & Paragraphs settings will affect your entire site, not only your blog. If you want to preview how a change looks before saving, use the Preview option.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the font on my blog titles? Yes. Your blog titles on the listing page use your H2 text style. Go to Change Design → Headings & Paragraphs and adjust your H2 settings. The change will apply across your site wherever H2 is used.
Why does my blog title look different on the listing page compared to the actual post? On the listing page, blog titles display as H2. On the individual post, the title displays as H1. These are two separate text styles, so they may look different depending on your Headings & Paragraphs settings.
Can I change the size of the blog post title (H1)? No, the H1 size on individual blog posts is fixed and can't be changed.
How do I control which text shows as the intro on the blog listing page? The intro is pulled automatically from the first text in your blog post. If you want paragraph text to show, make sure your post starts with a paragraph rather than a heading or image.
Can I add buttons to my blog posts? Blogs don't support traditional buttons in the text editor. However, you can add a downloadable file link, and style it under Change Design → Button Styles → More Button Settings → Blog Buttons.
