A site import is when we manually recreate your existing website from another platform—like Wix or Squarespace—onto Rocketspark. Our team reviews your current site and creates a document outlining the pages we can import, along with any parts that might look or work a little differently on Rocketspark. Once that’s ready, we’ll send it to you with a quote for bringing your site across.
What does the support team need for me to get a quote?
If you’ve sent the support team your current website URL, they’ll be able to take a look and complete the document.
If your website isn’t currently online, the team will need access to the backend of your existing website platform.
Once the quote is sent through to me, what are the next steps?
Once you get your quote, review the document carefully. Make sure you’re happy with the changes and differences that will come with moving to Rocketspark, and that you’re comfortable with the import price.
We do not charge you for the import until the site is live, unless you request it earlier.
Please note: the quote doesn’t include the ongoing Rocketspark subscription cost. You can view our plans here: https://www.rocketspark.com/nz/pricing/
How long does it take to bring the site over to Rocketspark once the quote is accepted?
Once you accept the quote, it usually takes between 10–15 working days. The support team will confirm the exact timeframe when they send your quote.
What happens to my current SEO?
SEO (search engine optimisation) isn’t part of the import process. You’ll need to set this up once your new Rocketspark site is live.
What is included in the import?
We’ll copy all visible text, images, and other content from your existing website into Rocketspark. During the import, we’ll apply Rocketspark’s default fonts and spacing to keep things tidy and consistent — you can adjust these later if you’d like.
Some visual or functional differences may occur due to the platform change. We’ll outline these in your document so you know exactly what to expect.
What happens after the site import is completed?
Once the import’s done, the support team will let you know and send your login details. You can then review your imported site to make sure everything’s there.
At this stage, you might want to tweak things or add extras like social media links. Our support team can guide you through this, or if you’d prefer a designer’s touch, we can connect you with one of our trusted design partners.
How to get the Rocketspark site live?
When you’re happy with your imported site and ready to go live, you’ll need to upgrade your account. Here’s how: How do I upgrade my account from free trial and go live?
At this point, you can either keep your domain name where it’s currently hosted or transfer it to Rocketspark. If you have email accounts linked to your domain, please check with the support team about how to migrate these to Rocketspark.
What can't be imported?
Some elements, such as contact forms, e-commerce functionality, custom code, or third-party integrations (like booking widgets or pop-ups), can’t be imported directly. These may need to be re-created manually within Rocketspark.
