You can register a new domain name directly through your Rocketspark Dashboard. If you're still on your free trial, you can pre-register a domain now or choose one as part of the upgrade process. Existing customers can follow the same steps to add additional domains to their website.
Rocketspark supports a limited number of domain extensions. Check the supported domain types in your Dashboard before you begin. If your extension isn't listed, you can self-manage your domain instead.
- Log in to your website Dashboard using your login details.
- Click Domain Names in the left-hand menu.
- Click on the Register a new domain name button.
- Enter the domain you are looking to register. Ensure you enter this correctly as this is the address that your website will be live at. Click Buy Domain.
NOTE: If the domain is already registered to someone else, you won't be able to claim it. You'll need to choose a different name.
If you already own the domain and want to use it with Rocketspark, you'll need to transfer it rather than register it. We have a guide on how to do this here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I register a domain if I'm still on my free trial? Yes. You can pre-register a domain during your trial or choose one as part of the upgrade process.
What if the domain I want is already taken? You'll need to choose a different name. It's not possible to register a domain that someone else currently owns.
I already own this domain. Can I still use it with Rocketspark? Yes, but you'll need to transfer it to Rocketspark rather than registering it as new. See our domain transfer guide.
How long before an expired domain becomes available to register again? This varies depending on the domain extension and the previous registrar's process. Most domains go through a redemption or grace period after expiry, which can last anywhere from 30 to 75 days, before they're released and available for general registration. Some extensions have shorter windows. There's no guaranteed date, and high-value or popular domains are often snapped up quickly once they're released. If you're waiting on a specific expired domain, we'd recommend checking back regularly or using a domain monitoring service.
What if I register the wrong domain name? Act quickly. You have 2 days from registration to raise this with our team. Email support@rocketspark.com from the owner email address used to register the domain.
What domain extensions does Rocketspark support? Rocketspark supports a limited number of extensions. Check the Dashboard for the full list. If your extension isn't supported, you can self-manage your domain.
Do I need extra information to register an Australian or UK domain? Yes. Australian domains require your ABN/ACN and business type. UK domains require your business details.
How long does domain registration take? Registration typically completes within a few hours. SSL will also be enabled within a few hours once the domain has propagated.
What happens if my domain registration fails? You'll see an error with a View errors button. From there you can review, correct, and resubmit your registration details.
Will SSL be set up automatically? Yes. Rocketspark will attempt to enable SSL once your registration is complete. Make sure the domain is pointing to Rocketspark for this to work.
Can I have more than one domain name on my website? Yes. You can add multiple domains, but one must be set as the primary. All others will redirect to it.
Do I keep ownership of my domain if I cancel? Yes. You retain ownership of your domain at all times. When cancelling, you'll be asked whether you want to keep or shut down your domain.
