This support guide will show you how you can have a downloadable link from the text in one of your shop products to provide more information to customers.
- Log in to your Dashboard using your log in details.
- Click on the Manage Pages option on the left-hand side of the page.
- Add a new page named File Uploads. Ensure that the newly created page is below the navigation menu line like the image below.
- Click onto the newly created File Uploads page. Add a new stack (usually 3 column). Once you have added a stack add a file upload block and select the PDF file that you would like to include in your shop product. - Right-click on the file upload block and select the Copy link address option.
- We recommend pasting the link address into a text editor such as Microsoft Word so it is easy to continue with the next step. The URL will look something like this:
- Now you want to delete the first part of the URL (delete the domain name in the URL, keeping the /site_files/....). You should keep the part surrounded by the red box in the image below.
- Keep the truncated URL somewhere handy as we are going to use it shortly. Go to your shop and select the item that you would like to display the PDF you have just uploaded on. Find the area in the text that you would like to link to the PDF and highlight it, while it is highlighted click the link symbol like the image below.
- Paste the truncated URL you have from step 7 into the box titled URL or email address. You can also select to open the PDF file in a new window using the checkbox at the bottom of the linking options. Click Insert and the PDF file will be linked to the text.
- You have created a link to your PDF file inside your product.
