The Product Code is a required field. Best practice shows us that each product should have a unique product code. While we don't force you to have a unique product code, it is highly recommended to help you avoid any potential product conflicts later on.
By default, we populate this field with the next available option. If you aren't worried about product codes, then please just leave this field with the suggested value.
Key Points:
Searchability: Your product code is searchable in the search results and can be used to identify the product when an order is placed.
Variants: If your product is using multiple variants (e.g., different sizes or colors), we require each SKU line to have a unique code within the product.
Visual Indicator: Note that when variants are turned on for a product, the main Product Code field will be crossed out. This is a visual indicator that the product no longer uses a single code; instead, the unique product codes are managed individually within each variant.
