Sometimes, the easiest way to show what’s happening on your screen is to take a picture of it. That’s what a screenshot is—an image of whatever’s showing on your screen at the time.
You can take a screenshot on pretty much any device. Here’s how:
On a Windows computer
Quick screenshot shortcut

Press Windows key + Shift + S

The screen will dim slightly, and your cursor will become a selection tool (crosshair).

Click and drag to select the area you want to capture

The screenshot is copied to your clipboard

Open a program like Word, or an email, and press Ctrl + V to paste it

Or click the notification that appears in the bottom right to open and save it from the Snipping Tool
Using the Snipping Tool (Windows 10 & 11)

Click the Start button and type Snipping Tool, then open it

Click New to capture a screenshot
-
Choose a shape (rectangle, freeform, full screen, or window)

Save the screenshot with File > Save As
Full screen shortcut

Press Print Screen (sometimes labelled PrtScn or PrtSc)

This copies the full screen to your clipboard—paste it with Ctrl + V
On a Mac
Whole screen

Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 3
-
A screenshot of your entire screen is taken

It saves automatically to your desktop

You’ll also see a small thumbnail in the corner—click it to edit or share
Select part of the screen

Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4
-
Your cursor will turn into a selection tool (crosshair)

Click and drag to select the area

It saves automatically to your desktop
Capture a window

Press Command (⌘) + Shift + 4, then tap the spacebar

Click the window you want to screenshot

It’ll be saved to your desktop as a file
On an iPhone
iPhones with Face ID

Press Side button + Volume Up at the same time

You’ll hear a camera sound and see a thumbnail in the bottom corner

Tap it to edit or swipe it away to save it
iPhones with a Home button

Press the Home button + Power button together
-
Screenshot is saved to Photos > Screenshots
On an Android phone
(Android phones can vary slightly depending on the brand, but these options work for most.)
Standard method

Press Power + Volume Down at the same time

Hold for a second, and you’ll see a flash or animation

The screenshot is saved to your Photos or Gallery, usually in a Screenshots folder
Other options (depending on your phone model)

Tap Screenshot in the quick settings panel (swipe down from the top)

Hold the Power button and tap Screenshot

Use gestures like swiping three fingers down on the screen (if enabled in settings)
Sharing your screenshot
Once you’ve taken your screenshot, you can attach it to an email or send it in a chat with our support team. It’s one of the easiest ways to help us see what you’re seeing.
