To register a .com.au domain you will need to be a registered Australian entity; whether that be a sole trader, company, charity or other incorporated association. These regulations are set by auDA which is the Australian organisation that regulates .au domains.
When you register a domain name with us we’ll ask you for your ABN, ACN or other registration numbers to prove you are eligible for a .com.au.
Alternatively, you can register a .com (no .au) without needing an ABN number. However, if your sole market of trading is based in Australia, a .com.au domain can be beneficial.
